falling Barometer....is it a "Myth"?

mornin from the st louis area
i've started april pretty good so far, but we have a saying in this state(town) and that is : If you don't like the weather, WAIT A MINUTE!!!! lol.... anyway, we have been getting weather reports on and off these 1st few days of April, stating that:>>>> THE BAROMETER IS FALLING..... not steady not rising but Falling.
My question: Can a guy "still" catch bass when the barometer falls?

A falling barometer is the best for fishing...its when it rises that the fish's bladder is effected and they become less active..that is, if you have bluebird clear skies, the barometer is rising or up to 30 and steady.
A key to good fishing is to follow weather patterns, often before a storm moves in the fishing is great, but that could be 6-12 hours or more before it hits..I study the barometer all the time, a falling barometer means get out there and fish!

Actually all the swim bladder talk n´t stuff is a myth, water is 850 times more dense than air so a drop in the barometric pressure is not felt by the fish.

It´s the weather changes associated with falling pressure the ones that activate fish activity, falling pressure mean: wind, clouds and probably rain. all of them in first place diminish the light penetration, then stir up the bottom turning the water murky, they activate baitfish, where baitfish are bass will be.

Simply stated, barometric pressure does not change quickly enough to magically turn the bite on or off. It certainly is one of the ingredients in the overall weather process, but temperature, cloud cover, wind direction and speed, and humidity can also affect fishing conditions. More importantly, the rate and amount of change in barometric pressure is insignificant compared to what’s going on below the surface

Exactly. It´s not the drop it´s the events that come with it.

Does it effect the fish? Yes. How much it depends on the fisherman. Some are able to get reaction strikes out of fish that don't "want" to eat or chase your bait.

BINGO!! We have a winner. LOL Just like you buddy its the events that are associated with the falling BP. They tried to dismiss the falling barometer in last months BassinTimes or at least they failed to mention that the events cause bass to feed more heavily most of the time. Dont care what they try and tell ya I have to many times watched animals and fish become more active in there feeding before a front with a falling barometer. Hell you can watch cattle they do the same thing.
