berkley gulp isnt that good of a bait, they dry up real fast and are unusable after few casts. if your a novice fisher just go with some tiki sticks from wall mart and practice different rigs and casts with them. do whatever seems to work best.

I just got a bag of Berkely Gulp! 5" Sinking Minnow. (probably similar or close to the Gulp! nightcrawlers you asked about)... Haven't had a chance to use them yet, but a few of my friends have, and they say it's a great bait... Only downfall is that they are not re-usable after they have been used. I can't wait to try them...

I caught one bass using one of those chartruese grub things fishing it next to a dock. I bought a jar of Berkley worms for bluegill and didn't get a bite. Put on a live worm and the bites started coming. Leave it on the shelf.

I used the big nightcrawlers in the jar and caught some huge trout with them, I have caught some nice bass with the nightcrawlers (natural) out of the bag. They have their pros and cons, can re use them, they dry out. I have had luck with them, but as you can some folks havent

See we go a couple of new posters here. Welcome to the site fellas. WVTROUTDOG my 2 sons put it on me using gulp turtle worms. Now I now that power worms work well and the bass do hold onto em pretty good but those boys kicked my butt using them cause I gave them 4 bags of that stuff. I bought them with a certain technique in mind. Bad thing about gulp is lay our rod down for a few or make a run to a new spot and try and fish that same worm. DRIED UP.
