Clean and rub with a cotton towel immediately after they are used and before storing them, if you do that they will last for years before even considering cleaning them with other products.

I store them in a heavy ziploc bag-the kind you get in a tackle binder-and a Falcon spinnerbait box that allows me to keep the air off them. When they are exposed to air is when oxidation takes place, although I haven't had much trouble with the blades they are making now oxidizing.

If you have some that are tarnished you can clean them with metal polish or whatever and then give them a couple coats of clear fingernail polish to seal them up-they'll look good as new.

Zook i use the ash trick all the time. It wont take off anything heavy but it will clean a blade! Weird but it actually works. I never thought about CLR before...but Im gonna give that a try...

Blades with the companies name nomally don't normally tarnish as bad as the ones without the name i.e. Hildebrant.
In the event that they do, just use some of the quotes above.
