I think I'd go nuts if I couldn't fish year round. I would like to try ice fishing some time, but I bet it is a chore chopping a hole in the ice big enough to get the boat in the water .

I feel your pain, because I have to put up with the same stuff. Here in New York, bass season is also closed until the third Saturday in June, and it takes forever for that date to arrive.

Can't you still catch them but not keep them during closed season. Thats how it is here on closed season fish.

I for one I'm glad there are at least two months that I can't go fishing. It gives me time to re-organize tackle, repair rods and reels, stock up on stuff for the next season and do all that fishing related stuff that isn't actually fishing. It also allows me to save a little money too (to spend on more fishing stuff of course).

I believe the bass season here runs from The last saturday in may to the 31st of december, Don't quote me on that tho. It has been a few months since I read the Michigan Fishing guide

But My wife and I are taking a very very extended vacation this winter.
We are heading to her home town in Alabama. Hopefully we can leave at the end of janurary, and we will be there till bass season opens here in michigan.

And with a little hope and luck I will be fishing my first tournaments next summer, The BFL's.
