Default Been awile, a novice question

hows it going, i am like a flip coin, been chasing cats, then bass then cats, now i am onto the winter bass. I got a gift for my b-day awile back and not sure if the pole is messed up or this is the way it is. i got the shimono voltaeus, 7'0 MH fast. When i look at the pole, it's straight in front of me, it looks as if the end is droping a bit. It doesn't have anything on it, jsut the pole. I have never had a fast tip before, is this how they are made.

Part of it is probably the weight of the guides pulling it down a bit but mostly it's the blank being a bit curved. It's rare to get a blank that is perfectly straight, even on high dollar rods. I've heard that the very best blanks are sold as blanks to rod builders and the rest go to be made as production rods. Shimano doesn't sell blanks so that is neither here nor there really, just illustrates how common this is. It is very normal for blanks to be curved a little and is nothing to worry about, unless it is really bad. It doesn't have anything to do with the action.

If your referring to fixing it, you could break it and hope Shimano gives you another one. That is about all you could do.

If you are referring to fishing with it, sounds like a nice Tex-Rig rod.

Well, you could send it to me around March and I'll try it out for ya just to make sure the rod is working properly.

Blanks are often not exactly straight, contain spline and a curve normally does not show much if mounted correctly and it isnt excessive.
I have one that did it real bad cure was to lean against the wall,in opposite direction for storage.
Other wise store in like a rod rack with no weight against the rod, that will at times cause a temporary bend, depending upon what its constructed of.
