Default frog baits

How many of you are going to buy a frog bait ? Maybe you already have got them.$7.00 for the spro frog I am thinking of buying, I hope it lasts alot longer than the old scum frog baits I have used in the past. P N J

ME!
ME!

I was just looking at frogs last week, the one I have used to decades (it seems) sure has some rusty hooks in it, I keep filing them down and sharpening them, but its time to get a new froggie..
I know DennyK and me sure burned up the frog scene, he took to it like a fish to water..I bet his hookup ratio was 80%, whereas mine is about 10% lol..they sure have a time and place on the ponds we fish with so much top water mat vegetation..I would invite everybuddie to try the frog out.
Over the years I have had the frogs that have legs and the ones that have the skirts for legs, plus have many co anglers that luv the rat for top water scummin'....

The Spro frog is a great choice if your choosing a slow/stop-n-go presentation. Last summer I had my most productive days using Zoom Horny Toads,I would go fishing every morning before work for 2 hours and land 10 or more. Have you guy's tried them? I also tried the ones made by Case,Yum and ribbit. Give them a shot. The key if the biggest EWG hook and a stout rod. A little Lunker Sauce did'nt hurt either.

I like the seismic toad, in green melon, similar to the zoom horny toad.

i prefer a stanley ribbit. it is just like aa horny toad but i think it would catch more fish.it comes in packs of 5 and comes with bead that helps the action on the water. i use a 4/o widegap bleeding hook.but the best thing is that you can get a strong hookset with it unlike the other frogs, just my 2 cents

As Scrap has posted, about the walmart mouse, I beleive it's a snag proof moss mouse, I love em, the only time I really throw those type of baits are when the grass is matted and I just drag that mouse across the slop, I like the mouse because it has a much smaller profile than most frogs which results in a lot more hookups through the thick grass.

pnj, ya gotta believe in the mouse and work it thoroughly over the top of scum, weeds, etc. reel, pause, twitch, pause, pause twitch, reel, do it anyway you want, i really dont think there is any magic to the retrieval process. as a footnote, i was out today, the sun was shining for a bit, the water was cold and i got skunked. but i was out there, thinking about my next big un to be caught and released. cya
