Bass Fishing Books

I was wondering if you all had any recommendations on any bass fishing books I might want to pick up at the bookstore. I'm in the mood to do some bass reading other than my standard Bassmaster Mags and In-Fisherman. can you say boilerplate?? Thanks.

BASS WISDOM by Homer Circle isbn 1-58574-036-5 Lots of information and an easy read.
BASS not sure who wrote this book but it is put out by In-Fisherman. This book is not on my shelf right now, my son most likely has it somewhere so I don't have all the information on it. There is a lot of information in it, but it is a tougher read than the other.

THE BASS ANGLER'S ALMANAC by John Weiss (more than 650 tips and tactics)....excellent reading.....

Also at www.fishingworld.com in the left hand column, click on book and for 6.95 you can order the book by Charlie Brewer on Slider Fishing. It's a small, but very well written book concerning crappie and bass fishing in the slider method. I recommend this book strongly as it's changed my fishing for the better ten times over.

good magazines too, ive read some good things, not somethinh you would expect from the walmart outdoor section

BassQualifier, I read a very good book about a guy who observed bass underwater. Right now I can't remember the title or the author of the book. It is somewhere around the house. I have been packing up things for a move. If I come across it I will post the info. It was a very informative into the world of the bass. The one thing I got out of it was how the bass act when you release a caught fish back into the water. Better to keep them in the live well (and I can't remember the exact place in their mouth or on their body) then to release them where you caught them. He explains how the other bass react. Lots of other info in the book. Maybe someone else remembers the title.

about th books at walmart.....i have "fishing rivers and streams"which is about all types of fish in moving water, and i have "advanced bass fishing" which explains some techniques for, soft plastics, jigs, topwater pugs, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits for largemouth and smallmouth bass.

Glenn Lau has done underwater videos of bass fishing and behavior but I don't believe he has authored any books (could be wrong) The videos are great. They were done around the Silver Springs area in Ocala, Florida. He does have a web site,(questforadventure.com)

Curado, Kevin VanDam's The secrets of a champion is a great book.Doug Hannon wrote some stuff, did alot of underwater studies as well.Bill Dance did alot of books, they're older but they are pretty good reading.Jimmy Houston wrote a good book as well.

try The Bass Anglers Bible by Erwin A. Bauer. i am probably going to get it for christmas from my aunt. it is only 13 bucks which is pretty cheap. i read some of it last trip to the book store and decided i needed it.

Also lots of good video's out there. Check out BPS's collection. Sometimes seeing the pro's actually working a bait or technique works faster and easier than trying to read it and then do it. Visual is definately a plus in many circumstances.

Try "Fishing on The edge" this book is written by Mike Iaconnely. It contains some interesting info. I recommend.

i have the infisherman book for Smallmouths and also the Largemouth one. I have Ike's book and Luring Largemouth Bass. all good books in my mind

I just got a new book called "Advanced Bass Fishing Skills". Its a pretty good book that goes in depth about many different techniques including dropshotting, texas rigging, carolina rigging, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, many different topwter baits, jigs, spoons,flipping and pitching.

The late Tom Mann once wrote a book about his life as a fisherman and a tackle designer. I dont remember the name of it because the copy i had aquired was kind of beat up and the cover was missing. If you ever want to read a book about a sucessfull high profile businessman who never departed from his humble beginings i would very much recommend it.

most of the crap i read is in Bassmaster Magazine. Bassin' is all ads and promo's, sometimes ill pick up in-fisherman if they have a good bass article, but they spend wayyyyy too much time on catfish and northern pike. Honestly guys, throw out some stink bait and deadline for cats, and pike will eat anything you throw in front of them. talk about something sincerely care about.

i dont take to heart much of what i read. ill use stuff i read about to experiment, but i really like to learn stuff on the water, adapting to different situations, and magazines and TV help give ideas, but a lot of the books are the same regurgitated info.

I got Fishing on the Edge by Mike Iaconelli yesterday as an early xmas present, we had a snow day so i took a few hours and read it, a pretty decent read for just something to get you ready for when the ice comes out.
