Default Boat Handling

OK folks, just bought a '06 Tracker TX 190, luv the boat, but havin problems tryin to keep the boat steady in the wind with the trolling motor. any advice or tips on keepin the boat in one place so I can concentrate on catchin fish? I know that aluminum can get squirrley in the wind, but right now a big bad glass boat ain't in my future so I need to figure it out!

welcome to tin boat fishing.. they all do it.. my best guess would be loading the boat add weight to the rear.
turn the outboard to your advantage by using it to steer while being pushed by the wind..a tin can boat does not work very well going into the wind..

keep the motor tilted down, fill the livewells and carry an extra battery or two..,................or just take lizards along with you..his tackle will give you plenty more weight.

Rotfl

Only thing I can suggest is to keep workingf on it. Use different setting on the trolling motor, and add weight. I will tell you tha a deep v is gonna be better than a flat bottom boat though. The more you do it the more you'll get used to it LOL. But it still shucks when you are fighting the wind, no matter how much you get used to it. If you are fishing open water, a drift bag could help also. You can just get a SMALL anchor and drag it, it will use up a lot more battery juice of course, but will help out a lot. Tie it to the back though so as not to get it into the trolling motor, and keep fishing.
