Default Berkley Gulp!

I got a bag of the new Berkley Gulp! minnow worms recently, but was very unsatisfied with them.
-they were unbelievably stiff and hard (even in the 90 degree temp.!)- the thick body also prevented the 4/0 EWG hooks from penetrating when a bass bit.
-they were also deformed in the package which restricted fishability.
-also, if you left them out of the bag for a day, they shrunk and were unusable!
Has anyone had better results using the Gulp!, or should I just continue fishing with Yamamoto worms? ???

i use to have some of the gulp worms. i experienced alot of the same stuff u had they became stiff and weren't very fishable. I'd quit usin them and use somthin u kno works. These baits are a waste of time and money.

I see the commercial that they outfish live bait, thats hard to swallow,
however I have never seen or used it, all I hear is it gets hard n old after one day of use if you leave it out.
The Berekly powerbaits I am a fan of tho, they were all the rage years ago when they got into the culprit market with an already scented worm, I liked the 3 inch black n blue powercraw

the only way i've had success with 'em is when i wacky rig 'em and give 'em a twitch every 5 or so seconds. Bass seem to explode on 'em when i do that/ so if i ever get any, that's the only rig i use. i had the same problem with the body being too thick for the hook to penetrate on the hook set... end up just pullin the bait outa the fished mouth.

other than the wacky rig, they're not a very good bait.

i've also strung a piece of string through them and used them as air fresheners. not too popular with the ladies, but it's the smell of fishing... and it takes me to a happy place :P

Now Now, I am neutral on the Gulp worms because they can be deformed out of the package. I have tried them one time and did pretty good with them but I noticed that alot of little fish hang around your bait and follow it in as you reel it in. They must be attracted to the scent. ;D

Now, I personally like the Sinkin Minnows in Black Red Flake wacky rigged. I use the 4 inch only. I caught 8 bass on 2 baits. Thats pretty good for durability. But, I bought all mine when they were a dollar a bag. Now they are 5 dollars, I will wait until They go back on sale at Wally World, then stock up on them, hell I may clear them out.
