Table Rock chompers are my favorite spider grub. They smell bad but the action is excellent.

Rootbeer/green flake, dark melon pepper for colors.

The jig head vary from fotball heads to chomper heads to Arkie heads. I look for a 3/0 hook.

10-12 lb test non braid line.Fluorocarbon line probably preferable but I use P-Line floroclear in the smaller lb test lines instead of fluorocarbon lines.

There are quite a few spider grub brands, I have Yamamotos but I believe chompers and the Arkie crawlin grub outfishes the Yamamoto brand on a consistant basis.Of course that has been my experience and it probably doesn't apply to everyone. Ivan

I like rootbeer/green flake and I also like the #5 brown/chartreuse laminated.

Dang Zooker, your arsenal has developed into a wider variety of lures.

I posted above under a different username, but its time to go back to the original username once again. Bassdozer has alot of spider grub articles, here is a few.

lol.. pnj you know me of old. being well vested in ALL forms of angling is what i have always done..

you know i have done everything from dabbling in spring runs with a fly rod for brookies. to dragging a seth green rig loaded with suttons miles from shore..

bass anglin is not really that much differant from finesse shakey head fishing to high speed spinnerbait fishing. i have pretty much got an angle on everthing...

What is a good size spider grub for a lake that is heavily pressured and the bass are normally less than 3 lbs?
Also what size jighead should I use, do I want a slow fall or a quick falling bait? I will be using them in the summer time if that helps.

I use the exact same set up zooker, it catches fish and seems to work better for me in the spring.

Chompers are awesome here on Table Rock lake. I use them mainly in the winter and spring in the same places I throw a jig.

experiement with jighead size. i mainly throw them on 1/2oz or 3/4oz football jigheads. whatever size jig you would use at that time and in that place then start with that size jighead for you hula grub
