Default tube rig

just bought my first bag of tubes, stike king coffee tube in watermelon red flake. the hooks im currently using to rig them is a gammy ewg weighted, 1/8oz, 3/0.

i like how this rig is working for me currently, but not sure if there are better suited hooks for fishing tubes.

what hooks do you use when you're fishing tubes?
and what tubes are your favorite?

I like using an EWG hook when pitching tubes into grass and other cover. For more open water I've been using a tube jig that has a rattle compartment built onto the shaft of the hook which rests inside the tube body. Not sure of the make of that jig though. Sorry

When casting a tube that aint texas rigged, anything with a 90* tie on it, and a good sharp, light, or med. wire hook (mustad or better). I like the 90* tie because I think it more erratic hop out of the bait. Havn't really fished 'em enough to say if I have a favorite tube or not, but Zoom and gander have worked for me before. Got some Chompers tubes too to to use this season. They look great, long tentacles and soft body.. Sammy like!

For 90% of my tubes, I use the Owner Phantom Tube hooks. I have a good hook up ratio and I like how it hides the weight. The only downside is that you have to retie everytime you change out a tube.
