Default Another reason I love PowerPro....

Was out playing around at a local pond, dragging a Red Shad Laminate Tiki Stik through the grass when KerSplash! Right next to my worm. Set the hook... line pays out, and my drag is set rather stiff... snag? No. 30 lb. or better snapping turtle. Locked down the drag and haul him in (I am not giving him one of my lures) Anyway, I had the presence of mind to bust out my camera and snap off a quick one. Unfortunately the pic don't do him justice. I guess if you gotta catch a turtle, you might as well go big.

I hate catching turtles, especially snappers!! Did you get the hook and all out?

Yup, No issues there, as I always carry a pair of 2 foot long handle pliers... He did have me nervous once or twice though.

LOL, no, it is my "stage name" of sorts. I volunteer at a Haunted House attraction around here, and we take on our aliases so as to avoid having to yell "Hey Steve" across the house, which is far less frightening than "Hey Wargoth" or the like. Though I am also a guitarist, and into damn near all music.

Caught one Largie on the first cast on a Horny Toad... Had a few other hits over the next hour or so, but lost em all... It is a hard pond to fish sometimes due to the shallow water, and all the darn lillies (the pic shows them where they are somewhat spread out, most of it is jam packed with em)

And, I really don't like reptile except for rattler... gator is edible I guess, but nothing I'd go out of my way for. I just sent him back on his merry little way after nabbing back the lure he tried to steal.

I hate it when turtles, crab, or crawfish eat the bait, especially when you think its a big fish!

Meh... It was pretty amusing dragging that behemoth out of the weeds so I don't mind much. Now if all I caught were turtles, I'd probly get annoyed, but they are fairly scarce so...

I used to have a huge turtle problem, So I ended up having a turtle fishing spree(which was surprisingly...fun) and removed about half to the local park. They do get annoying since they feel like a huge fish on the end of your line.
