Default Spinnerbait

Hey guys,
Do you fish Spinnerbaits near the surface, or do you let it sink a good bit before the retrieve? ???

You can do it either way and have success. There are some many diffrent ways to fish a spinnerbait it is unreal to many to list. A spinnerbait will fall about 1 foot every second so if your in ten feet count to nine or ten then start your retrieve. Slow rolling it will keep it down and cranking it fast will bring it back to the surface. Good luck

Fat and Dirty:

Normally I don't treat a spinnerbait like a countdown lure, I will start reeling as soon as it hits the water. This does not mean I fish it "close to the surface", but it really needs to be moving some to get bites in most situations. Normally if you are begining to learn spinnerbaits I would recomend retrieving them at a speed that just barely allows you to still see the flash created by the blades, maybe 2-4 feet deep depending on where you are fishing. Many fish them faster (higher) or slower (deeper), but those techniques are slightly more specialized and refined for particular patterns.

depends on where the fish are at and what they want you'll have to try different retrieves.
