Default Best Fishing Book

What is your best read concerning bass fishing....either large or smallmouth?

I've just been re-reading The Bass Angler's Almanac written by John Weiss and am currently thinking it's the best I've read so far. Just got to wondering your recommendations for other books on the subject.

Thanks, and good fishing, Mac

"Smallmouth Bass: An In-Fisherman Handbook of Strategies" and "Largemouth Bass: An In-Fisherman Handbook of Strategies" by al Lindner. Excellent books on the subject.

I have to agree, any publication from In Fisherman will be informative and straight to the point.

Mac, just a week or two ago I purchased Knowing Bass, by Keith A. Jones, PhD, who is director of fish research for Berkley. I don't regret the purchase, because there's some good stuff in it, but a pretty fair amount of it was more technical than I care to read. But for someone who's interested in how a fish actually sees, hears, smells, reacts to stimuli, etc., this is something I'd recommend.

Not really a super informative read, but definately a really interesting read if you watch the bassmaster circuit at all is the Mike Iaconelli autobiography. I think its called "Fishing the Edge".

I have the same book and it is beyond informative and some of it is above me. It also dispels some myths out there that many still hold true.

I've enjoyed every book I've read about fishing for bass or fishing in general. If you like to read, here are some other bass specific books I've read. I've included the ISBN numbers to help you find them in any library of book store.

IB’s note: A Scientific Approach to Catching more bass. It is a wonder how few bass anglers have taken the effort to read or find this books. Their loss. This book dispels a few myths bass anglers hold true. Want to know which ones? Read the book!! J

It's not the best, but I have a free ebook on my website called Bass Fishing 101. I have a few more free ones as I purchased them with giveaway rights to promote my website at www.floridabassfishing.us. Enjoy!
