Default 2009 BF.com C&R Braggin' Rights Tournament.

BASSFISHIN.COM Catch And Release/Braggin’ Rights Tournament

I. General Rules
  • THIS IS A CATCH AND RELEASE TOURNAMENT ONLY. The fish you enter must be released. You will be trusted to be truthful.
  • The contiguous States will be divided into five regions: North, South, East, West, and Central.
  • After all entries have been submitted, a winner will selected from each of the five regions. A Grand Prize winner will be selected at the end of the tournament.
  • The regions are shown in the map below.
  • The Tournament will run from February 1, 2009 until December 1, 2009. All fish must be caught within that time period, and all entries must be received by Dec. 6, 2009.
  • There will be a winner every month in addition to the Grand Prize winner at the end.
  • Only Largemouth and Smallmouth bass will be allowed in this tournament.
  • The biggest fish from each region will not count for the next month’s tournament, even if no other entries are received for that region.

II. Entries
  • Entries can be submitted to bfcomtourney@aim.com.
  • All entries must contain a picture with the fish showing the length, and a picture showing the girth. If a picture of the girth is not available, you will be trusted to state the girth as accurately as you can. You can use the string method, where you wrpa a string around the fish and tie a knot where it meets. Then measure that.
  • All measurements must be easily read, we suggest writing it on a piece of paper and placing that visibly in one of the pictures. The password will be given out the first day of the tournament. If the password is not in one of the pictures for each fish, that entry will be discarded.
  • All entries must also include your name, the region and state you caught the fish in, and the fish’s length and girth (typed in the email).
  • If you have a scale, you can include the weight, otherwise, we will calculate that.
  • Any entries without these requirements will be discarded.
  • There are no limits to how many times you can enter during the duration of the tournament.
  • Please only one entry per fish, and one fish per entry. If you have more than one fish in an entry, it will be discarded. But there really is no reason to submit more than one since only the biggest counts anyways.

III. Scoring
  • Scoring will be based on the weight of the state record fish for the state your fish was caught in.
  • The weight of your fish will be compared to the state record fish, and your fish will be scored by the percentage on its weight compared to the state record.
  • At the end of each month and the tournament, only your largest fish will be taken into consideration.
  • At the end of the tournament, the largest fish from through the year will receive the grand prize.

IV. Prizes
  • The Grand Prize has yet to be determined.
  • The winners of the monthly tournaments will get pride, and more importantly, bragging rights until the next month.

V. State Records (don’t worry, we’ll calculate the percentage. This is just to give you an idea.)

Default Huh?

The biggest fish from each region will not count for the next month’s tournament, even if no other entries are received for that region.

Can you clarify please.

All fish will count towards the final yearly winner, but the bragging rights will go from month to month.

Fair to do now us Notherners just need to put on a snow suit to stay warm on the ice.

Hey guys, just wanted to let you all know the pass word. And one more quick rule.

All entries for a month must be received my the second day of the next month.

The password is: c&r tourny. (original, ain't it.)

Sounds like a cool deal but I'm not going to keep a big ol famale out of the water long enough to take all those measurements and write down a password for the picture and all that stuff. I'll just take a picture with my scales to show what she weighed and put her back. Y'all have fun!

Yep, for both LM and SM (and one for walleye, northern, muskie and lake trout also). Not like it matters all that much for my bass fishing since ice-out on the lake I fish on isn't usually until very late April or early May anyway.

I've got to deal with 1/2 seasons. about 1/2 the bass fishing I do is in MI, which has a bass season, where as Ohio doesn't. Down here, I think they're more conerned about perch and walleye and Lake Erie. We also don't have a length restrictions.
