Not yet. I just started seeing water getting there the other day, it was 62 degrees in some locations. Just had a front come through that will knock temps down a little. There are a couple lakes I have in mind to go check throughout February for beds pretty soon. Looking forward to it this year, gonna try to get on the bass and follow their yearly pattern instead of being lazy like I normally am lol.

I'm totally jealous...we won't see 62 degrees until April up here. I can't imagine it up in Michigan and New York. Poor Mallen and Bender. Of course, Bender seems pretty good at catchin' em even when it's cold. Mallen? Well..........

I was kinda surprised to see the 62 myself, be we had some pretty warm runoff. Lots and lots of rain.

The lake I am thinking for this next month of is very much spring fed so I think it might be a little ahead of the other waters. Havent been there since October but it supposedly has good big bass potential.

Until last week, we saw the beds starting. Last week we got a lot of rain and it brought the beds to a halt. I suspect that they will be in full blown sapwn out here in the next 30-45 days.

As far as favorate baits, I toggle between tubes and a spinnerbait. I like both better than a jig because of the ability to target the female while she is still off the bed.

I saw a few shiny spots the other day at Okhissa in south Mississippi. But I didn't see any males or females. I hope to see some tenders when I get back in from work in mid Feb.

Lol, that's pretty funny.

I think I'm just gonna wait till spring too. But unlike you, I can go fishing as soon as the ice is gone. No season down here.

Yeah, there's other species to fish for, definitely. Walleye, Perch, panfish.
But I don't give up on Bass until it's gotten pretty cold out.
Once cold weather hits, I hang em up.

Might be off the subject, but a buddy told me to turn my bullet weight around when fishing a bed. He said the the weight acts like a shovel and can really make the fish ill for the extra commotion and disturbance. I don't know if it works, but it is worth a try.

I couldn't see a bed if I wanted to cause we have had so much rain you can't see 6" down. Its like fishing in chocolate milk.

I cannot believe anyone is talking about bed fishing yet lol.Water temp is still in the upper 30's here so I highly doubt there are any fish looking to bed or bedding. Still a few months before the fish even consider it round here.

As far as bed fishing tactics go I like to throw a T-rigged Kreature bait or a beaver if a jig doesn't work. Also an okeechobee colored Paca craw caught a few pigs on bed last year.

Haha! I know what you mean. The Easter Bunny will have filed for unemployment by the time the bass are bedding here

If it makes you guys feel any better, the water temp dropped here down to a frigid 58 degrees. Probably be a few more weeks, depending on weather.

I might be wrong but bed fishing might be illegal here in PA. I am going to find out if it is ok on privately owned ponds.

It has been a long and unusually cold winter in this stretch of northwest FL and so far only the super shallow ponds have started to see a few starting to move a little as of last weekend (Jan 30)... but so far the beds are empty due to continuing cool weather and heavy rains flooding ponds and rivers

I've always been under the impression that it was illegal here in Michigan, but I've never bothered to verify it. Until I do, I'll just keep fishing during the legal dates
