Default Best economical trolling motor ?

I broke my trolling motor and need a new one. But , Christmas is coming as well as a new child. So , im looking for the best value in a 12v motor. Thanks for you input. I would also like a break away or something similar so this doesnt happen again.

I assume we're talking foot control. IMO you just can't go wrong with Minn Kota. If you are looking for a value, look at the Minn Kota Edge.

Found this one at Dick's for you. This is about the best price I've seen.

Yes , foot contolled. That seems to be a good price. I have heard good things about Minn Kota. I will have to goto Dicks and check that out. Thanks for the research and link , I appreciate it.

I agree with the Edge. I bought one this year from Cabela's and love it. Foot control took some getting use to. I've always had Minn Kota motors and find they are great values. Never had much problems with any of them I've owned. Cabela's usually has some factory refurbs pretty cheap. They have a warranty on them.

What pd thrust do you need,I have a 36 pd 12v cobra with a bent(not broken) shaft foot control, removed as dont use a foot control,or that lil thrust.
You got anyone coming down to ky lake you can have it,was just up to Terre Haute, last week myself, had to pick up another motor.
Im 2hrs south of border in tn.
Other wise in a couple of weeks having a yard sale, will dispose of then.
The price is right if you are coming this way called free, worked when pulled was on an allison I bought.

Well my 200 hp bit the dust, and dont really need to do 90,and had a desire to fish bass 150 circuit,so bought an old xflow 140,went to Terre Haute and picked it up.
On an allison 2002 should run 60 plus, its definately 100 pd lighter than the 3 L.
new territory as far as props go for me 13 spline, picked up a hub so can use merc stuff, like quicksilver.10 in bobs hydraulic jackplate figure a 24 p to start with.
Years ago ran a 23 P mazco on a johnson 135,and it did it rather easily.
This motor was on an indy pace boat, semi retired to a Mc Fast and the Waubash skinny dipping sandbars by a police officer there. Now going to semi fly on ky lake.
Hey still have a sense of humor,it was a cheap replacement due to lack of funding otherwise.
