Default Smaller ponds...

Hey all...new to the forums. Love what Ive read so far. Ive recently moved to a golf course neighborhood in Florida with quite a few small ponds on the course. Ive been throwing a soft plastic worm for the past week or so, but I havent gotten ANYTHING yet. Ive noticed that the fish in the pond, whatever they may be, have been nipping small minnows off the surface in the evenings. So Im wondering if the 6 inch worm is too big??? Anything smaller that I could use??? Just thinking too much??? Thanks for any help. I need a fish soon.
