Default trick worm question

Hey if your fishing with a jig head or some sort of weighted hook (T rig style) Are trick worms ideal? Because trickworms have floating tails right? More bouyant?? please enlighten me.

they do work good weighted...i like to use them near grass, hydrilla, buck brush, etc.
i use a small 1/16 oz weight, or a 1/8oz weight most of the time.

Right, I just want to know that if I see a trickworm that the tailen will float. Want to make sure I'm getting good action when fishing on the bottom and on the downfall.

One of you biggest things to remember with a trick worm is to downsize your line when fishing them , most them time I do find myself t-rigging them and truthfully all the trick worms i have owned from robo worm to zoom ones pretty much lay flat on the bottom when rigged this way on a jig head yes they will stand up more depending on the style of jig head that you use .

they do float up in slight current.a shakey head jig makes it work best.

The trick worms do ok, but any hand pour works best if you are looking for something that floats. Look for one flat side, thats what gives away hand poured worms.

I forgot what the worms are called but they have like air bladders in the tail end, they float better than the trick worm, sometimes that trick worm will float and slowly fall over. I use them for anything because they float so good

If you want a worm that actually floats, try the Strike King Elaztech worms. I got one from a buddy on my fishing trip the other day, and it actually floats. I'm going to pick up some more for shaky heads.

+1 on the Elaztech. In my experience, they'll keep a 2/0 EWG Gammy on the surface.

If you're looking for something that will float on jig head or shakey head, the PowerBait Shaky Head worm does. It doesn't float a hook real well though.
