Modifying a walmart $1.00 buzz bait
I seen this when looking for info about buzz baits.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqjLP7PxSFU For a dollar, I got 3, and I'll try what he said. Who knows it may work? I was also thinking about turning it into a spiner bait, replace the buzz blade with Colorado blade?

yes the wally world around here sell $1.00 spinnerbaits. i tried the buzz's, didn't like em, they wouldn't buzz right, lol. the spinners are ok, once you buy a better skirt for them.

I've bought several of those $1 buzzbaits and spinnerbaits....they are pretty decent for a buck....like the video shows you need to add a bead to the buzzbait to make it work better...maybe even tweak the bend of the wire to change the way it runs.....you can also drill a hole in each side of the blade to add some extra gurgle and bubbles.
The spinnerbaits are fine and i've caught alot of fish with them, but they mostly seem to come in willowleaf blades so i'll just change out a few with some colorado's and i'm good to go. |

I'll stick with the Booyah pip-zqueak buzzbaits, they're awesome.

you can also crimp down the thrust washer on your buzzbaits to add some additional squeak.....

After crimping the thrust bearing, you can also score the face of the thrust bearing with a knife....just draw the knife across the bearing face a couple places and also on the matching surface of the blade support. adds a lot of squeal.

Get some square masonry nails and make the holes on the blade bigger. This will make the blade rattle on the shaft making more noise on all buzzbaits.

Here's my method for making the best use of WallyWorld BuZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZbaits...
I remove the lure from the package, resharpen the hook, place bait on a flat surface, then walk away and tie on a Boo-Yah BuZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZbait. This approach has yet to fail! Lancer6 |

Usually I just tie a mouse onto the blades. Those little suckers squeak like mad when they get all dizzy from the spinning of the blades. They tend to throw up a little too. I think of it as chum. L6 |

i bought a mess of those $1 spinnerbaits at walmart...granted, they're not as good as the higher quality spinners. but ive caught plenty of Bass / walleyes on 'em. and if i happen to get snagged & lose a few they were only $1.
