See now, that's not a good attitude to have when trying to sell an item...

And I didn't know the heck you were talking about either. When you sell an item, give the best description you can, especially stating what the product is. Pictures are a great help too.

Haha...now you know why I mistook BigBassin for BassBoss a couple of times. Too many similar handles! They have both signed their posts "BB" too.

Yeah, boogie was kind of lame in his response to me, but technically, it wasn't even a response, since I didn't ask him a question in the first place...I asked bill. Thanks for the information anyways, boogerman.

You guys have skin that's way too thin. Anyone that didn't recognize the model number of the Sonar and had just a little gumption would have typed four little letters (actually 1 letter and 3 numbers for you purists) in to any search engine on the web and got his answer, along with pictures, specs, even the manual. I know it's so much easier to ask a question and WAIT for an answer. I told him what it was so he got his answer and only had to wait 27 minutes.
If someone does not recognize one of the most common Sonar units out there, they likely do not need it. Anyone that may be looking for what is offered for sale would instantly know what it was. Why should the seller waste time and space on this thread explaining what does not require much explaining? X-135 says it all.
If you're selling something you want grab the attention of those that may be interested and not waste the time of others that are not. It's called MARKETING or target sales.
This post was in the Classified section, and the original post was just fine.
The originator even had his e-mail listed and IF NFE wanted a PERSONAL interaction with the seller he should have chosen the e-mail route - that's what it there for - and not asked his "question" in an open forum inviting answers from others that could (and did) give it to him.

Its just not worth a big discussion either way. I knew what he was talking about.

When I sell stuff, I air on the descriptive side but its his depthfinder for sale, he can advertise it the way he wants.

Stop being obnoxious, boogie.

First, I never said there was anything wrong with his post. I simply asked a question. Who appointed you final arbiter of who needs to e-mail someone instead of asking a question?

Second, you wasted more time putting together that pathetic defense of your rudeness in your previous post, than I did asking him my question.

Third, it wasn't your ad, so it wasn't any of your business in the first place.

This will be a pretty pathetic site when people get chastised for simply asking a question. Chastising them for being jerks is okay though.

I just had to post that this thread is really funny... and i agree what BB originally stated that if you are selling something you want to give the best description possible. You don't want your future consumer to have to work to find out what the hell your selling...

As of right now, billproxs has had 258 views on his depth finder. If the goal of this was to grab attention, he actually did well.

An x135 is a good unit and he is offering it at a substantial discount.

Default Thanks

I am on many other forums and even a moderator on one. I have always just said to lookers when selling items to always include all your personal info." in your profile". This eases buyers and also they can contact me "im or email"?

I always put in my "email" for pic or questions. If alllowed.

This thread seems to have brought out the ones on all fishing/hunting forums that are always making some comment just to remain active on the thread? But thats ok, cause this usually keeps my items at the top for new lookers.

I am a Q/A man on other fishing/hunting boards...boats setups,pad to props,Motors,Gps/Sonars,etc.

Thanks
Bill
