Re: Team Daiwa vs. Shimano
PNJ Says to pick the reel that you like.Save yourself some money and buy used reels that are in good condition, If they are a good reel ,they will last forever provided they were taken care of and not misused. If the lettering on the exterior is visible most likely they have not been used very much. This is probably not what you expected to hear ? ;D P N J

Re: Team Daiwa vs. Shimano
PnJ is definitly right on about buying used reels. Reels are like boats when it comes to depreciation, they can drop a good 30% of the sticker price in 1 or 2 years. I like to just check ebay every so often for deals.

PS: SORRY ABOUT ALL THE POST, I THINK I HAD WAY TOO MUCH COFFEE (french vanilla) THIS MOURNING WITH MY SMORES POP TARTS (4). MIGHT ERASE A FEW. |

I was looking for some new reels and I didn't want a thumb bar. I am use to the buttons and the way I hold the reel, I figured, the thumb bar would release the spool when fighting a fish. I was in Academy Sports and they had A Diawa 6.3 thumb bar reel on sale for $30. I bought two to try....thinking that if it didn't work out I wouldn't be in too deep.
They are great and the next time I'm in town I'll buy a couple more. Buddy |
