Default How do you store your crankbaits, depth or size?

I’m trying to reorganize my crankbaits in new boxes as I just picked up a lot of new Rapalas on sale. How do you store them, by depth or size? One box for shallows, one for mid depth, and one for deep? What works best for you, I’ve got about 200 so I really need to store them right. Thanks,

I don't know about that. All of my cranks regardless of depth can fit in two planos so I don't have to categorize/organize yet. lol

I have boxes for crankbait that dive less than 10', more than 10', squarebills, and deep divers such as DD22s. I have a few boxes for each catagory and divide my crankbaits by color in those boxes. I also have a few crankbaits that I been my favorites on my local lakes and I have boxes that are full of those crankbaits, for example I have a box of Bomber 7A crankbaits in Firetiger, another box of Bomber 7A crankbaits in Apple Red Crawdad and Dark Green Crawdad, and another box of Strike King crankbaits in Sexy Shad color. It's a lot of different boxes but it makes it easy to only take what I need in the boat and not have to take a bunch of boxes with me when I know I will only need one or two different crankbaits.

I have a different box for each depth range. One for 5ft and less, one for 5-10ft, one for 10-15ft, and one for 15+ feet. When I'm off the water I spend a lot of time reorganizing my tackle and this seems to work the best for me so far.

Mine are catagorized by color. Craw, shad and chartreuse. I carry 15 of each color in my boat. 5 shallow, 5 medium and 5 deep divers. The rest are stored and I replenish my boat as they are needed.

I keep mine separated by diving depth, bill type (for shallow divers), brand, and material type (plastic vs. balsa).

Using Plano 3700's, I store them by Brand, Model, Depth, Color. If I have a hand full of these and handfull of those and they dive to relatively the same in depth, I'll throw them all in one box with other misc. cranks I may have. Course if your like me, ya end up with 2 or three boxes of crap baits that never see the water.
