Default New Gear for the Year

Didn't have anything better to do so I figured i'd post some picks of what I bought from Bass Pro. Also stuck in the plastics I got from Mymomisbecky.com and the KicknBass scent I picked up. The two reels I bought before but decided to stick them next to their new rods anyways. The rods are a 6'6 M Crankin Stick for the energy baitcaster, and a 6'6 M Ugly Stick Lite for the energy spinning. I'm no pro by any means so any comments are appreciated.

I'm also going to post this second pick because on my Baitcaster I bought a reel cover to keep it from getting dinged up. The problem is there is no spot for the line to go through, and its kind of a pain in the butt to have to rethread the line every single time. Anyone else use this type of cover? What do you think of it?

Lots of good stuff there bud, I have a few covers too, but don't use them much. My rods and reels get used quite often so there aint much time for dust to be collecting on them. I like the quote on the bottom of your post, I have told folks before that fishing is my church, a time and place to reflect on my blessings and give thanks for what I have.

Good Luck this year on the water...

Take a knife and make a cut, then sew on a small piece of velcro to hold it together.

Let out some line, put the cover on with line coing out the bottom, or get a plastic circle, hole punch it, tie line to that, reel it up to where it stops, then cover it. nice gear BTW. Good luck this season!
