Yeah Tom it needs some plastics laying around LOL. That boat will serve you extremely well in Indiana. Just moved down here from Indiana in November. Congrats, and take it to the water. But make sure you winterize that thing this fall. Hate to see it messed up next spring. Oh did I mention I don't need to winterize my boat anymore, it stays fishing year round LOL.

So call me anal I like to keep things clean. I bought it because 1. Price over Fiberglass and 2. my partner has a 20 ft ProCraft and only complains that it is to big for most Indiana lakes. I had the marina store and winterize my last boat so thanks for rubbing that one in.

LMAO!!!! Ole lizzy has a way of Rubbing it in bought being able to fish COMFORTABLY all year long. I have the same advantage but the word COMFORTABLY is taken out of the equation. Right now its raining and the temps are dropping like 1oz. sinkers through a grass mat.

Look here
www.cheapoldboats.com

on down past the middle, theres an 8 footer for 100$
ask around, and look in local trader/classifieds. You should be able to find one pretty cheap.

Here is my 9 foot pond prowler.
It is powered by a 41 lb thrust motor guide bill dance edition trolling motor.
The motor is mounted in the front, and wires run through the boat.

I push this around my neighborhood on furniture dollies most of the time. I have one that was custom built for me by my dad's friend. It is about 6' by 3.5', give or take a few inches.
I also have two regular sized furniture dollies that I can put in the back of the boat, or in someone's backyard by swinging around the fence. the other one is too heavy to do that with.

I got the boat for Christmas 2005. My cousin recently slipped and told me that my uncle got it for $100. It came with a 17 lb thrust motor, a used battery, and a charger. I still use the charger, got a couple uses out of the battery, and the trolling motor is now my backup. My grandpa gave me his 41 lb motor. He said that he hardly used it. before today, the only things that I paid for for my boat were a battery or two, some battery clips, a plug for the trolling motor, and new drainage plugs. Today I bought a used depthfinder off of ebay. I only paid 11.01 out of my pocket. The rest was an ebay gift certificate. I also ordered two new rod holders today. My mom said on Christmas that I could order them as part of my present, and I finally did today. I plan to put a bream out with them once and a while, and they are removable.

My boat...

The depthfinder I ordered...

The rod holders I ordered...

They sell them at BPS, but for a lot more than my uncle got this one for.
It is much more stable than the Tracker 10 my friend has. This also has the seats up high. I stand and once and a while walk on the gunnel to the back to mess with the battery with no problem. The trade off for the stability is that it is about twice the weight of my friends Tracker 10.
I can get it up to 12-15 mph if I am by myself and have a new fully charged battery.

I guesstimate. It only goes that fast on full speed, on a new, fully charged battery.
