I went into the Spanish Fort, AL store on Thursday, They seemed to be understocked on alot of things. I picked up a couple packs of Net Bait worms, a KVD Sexy Shad 3/8 Spinnerbait, A Spro bronzeye popper, and some strike king swimbaits. I can't wait till I get my tax return this year!

I've never been to either a BPS or a Cabela's. Everything I buy from them is done online. Never had a problem with items in their catalog being out of stock.

I got two catalogs and can't find any Sebile or River 2 Sea baits in either. They must not have had time to add them before they had to send the catalog out to print......

What's so special about the new Revo Toro? Other than the extra $10. Do you really need an extra 55yds of line on a spool?

Aren't all the Abu's made in Sweden? It's supposed to me like fishing a round baitcaster, but with the feel on a low profile.

Freight and import taxes. I do understand that cost!!!

My point exactly. I found them on Tackle Warehouse as well. Went to the new BPS just down the road and the Fishing Manager had no clue as to what the Sebile baits were. Imagine that.....

BB, You might want to check the stickers on the Revo lineup. I sold my Revos but if I remember correctly, they were made in Korea ?

That is not necessarily a bad thing. They are still made to the companies specifications, no matter where they are made. The revo line up getting away from the stationary shaft post will create a smoother cranking reel. Not that that is necessarily a good thing either. The old stationary shaft Abu reels are proven to be extremely durable reels over decades of use. Ivan

True, but it's still sad to see that that being made in a country like korea or china, etc.

Korean standards of workmanship are the equal to the Japanese. Take a walk through Dicks, Sports Authority, etc. and check out their house rods, mid priced reels, terminal tackle, etc. Most of it is made in China, just like 90% of everything in most retail stores that we don't consume or put on our bodies.

So what else is new.

I got mine a few days ago and to be honest I was rather disappointed. Not much new inside the covers. A few cosmetic changes to some BPS reels, but nothing to get excited about. I noticed an increase in prices that I felt was expected, however steeper than I thought would be the case. And is it just me or is there fewer lures and terminal tackle than before? Seems like there is fewer every year. I was especially disappointed to see they did not include the new 4 inch swimbait made by Spro. It's being advertised in virtualy every bass fishing magazine in press, yet BPS did not include it. They have the one made by Tru-Tungsten but not Spro. I wonder if maybe the day will be comming soon when BPS and Cabellas both do away with their catalogs all together in favor of their web sites. I sure hope not.

One thing I was surprised and VERY glad to see was the new X-rap Shad Shallow from Rapala. I loved the regulars ones, but they dove too deep for most places I fished. I bought two of the new shallows ones when I went to BPS.

Anybody notice that Bagley crankbaits arn't in the catalog? Guy at BPS told me this weekend. They didn't have either the Winch or Toro in stock. Damn Bait Monkey had me down there again. Found some cool stuff at Green Top (little fishing/hunting store outside Richmond). They had the reels and a better selection of plastics.

I find most of the BPS idiots don't know much. But i go. I just don't want to talk to them since they know nothing.
