The Show-Me State worm rig!!!

Is it a drop-shot or a carolina rig. How about both. I been working on this for along while. But i finally got what i want. To rig this you will need a worm hook & casting sinker. Take & make a loop knot tying to the casting sinker to the line. Leave about 6 to 8 inches of line to use as a leader. Tie your hook to the the 6 to 8 inch leader. I use a UNI-snell knot my self on the hook. Itz the strongest knot for this application. This rig can be drifted or you can cast it. Comparing this to a carolina rig. This rig is more stealthy since it makes no noise other than the casting sinker hitting structure. It is stronger because it elminates having to tie to the swivel. Use it like a drop-shot if you want. But instead it puts the worm behind the weight. Try it in the colder water with a floating worm. The worm will suspend at the length of leader. Reel it in & pause every now & then. Bass go crazy over this set up.

Come on guy's. Try rigging this with about 12inches of scrap line for practice. Put the weight in the center & make a loop knot. With the remainder 6 inches tie the worm hook on the other end. It should look like a carolina rig with a bait casting sinker instead. That's it. It's that simple.

Thank goodness sombody does. Grab the floating worms once ice thaws. Try moving the bait very very slowly with an ocasional jerking motion to stir things up.

i gotcha too moose, i have done this before. a long time ago. it does work. but in my experience, it works better with a floating lizard or worm. great action when you twitch it. the weight kinda stays in contact with the floor and the lizard/worm moves like crazy, looking like a wounded something or other. i would just let it sit for a few minutes, then........BAM!! hold on to yer shorts.

Yep you got it !!! Now go catch some bass. With the loop you get alittle lift in the bait when your using floating worms. You still do with regular worms but that's only scene when you retreive it at a moderate speed. Come spawn time i would retrieve it like like a crank bait. When the fish hits the bait. It is like a weight sinsation. My sugestion is set the hook hard & fast.

BTW-how heavy is weight that you use?
