Default Hello, Everybody!

Hey, guys! I've lurked for a while for fishing and equipment tips and just decided to sign up. You seem like a bunch of pretty knowledgeable folks when it comes to bass fishing. I'm 36 years old and just started "seriously" fishing since 2009. Joined a local bass club here in Middle Tennessee last year (with my girlfriend as my fishing partner) and did okay. Placed 2nd twice and caught big fish twice but no 1st place wins. (And the last 2nd place finish was in our classic where my girlfriend caught all but about one pound of our 2nd place total!) Just wanted to say hello. Thanks!

Thanks for the welcomes, everybody. I have my first tournament of 2012 this Saturday on Old Hickory Lake and if I catch anything worth sharing, I'll post some pics.

With it being so unseasonably warm(80 deg. air, 55-60 deg. water), I'm thinking the bass will be up shallow preparing to spawn. I'm planning to throw shallow-running cranks, the always reliable T-rigged plastic worm, shaky heads and wacky rigs. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Welcome to the board. Suspending Jerkbaits, unless your sure that bite is done with. Spinnerbaits slow rolled and twitched, Tubes.

Thanks, basstech! I've got a rapala x-rap jerkbait (clown) tied on my fourth rod. I appreciate the advice. And if I catch any decent ones I will post pics.

Didn't catch anything of note. We weighed in one fish that was 1.95 lbs. I caught it on a Lake Fork Trophy Lures ring fry. He was sitting right on a stump in about 3-4 feet of water. We caught 8 fish but only one of them was over the legal limit of 14 inches. The winners weighed in 5 fish that totaled 11.85 lbs.

I appreciate all the suggestions, folks. And I'll probably ask for more advice for our next tournament on Percy Priest Reservoir in 2 weeks.

Hi, Isabella!

We had our 2nd tourney on Saturday at J. Percy Priest Reservoir. Only weighed in one but she was a nice 3.60 pounder! Caught her on another Lake Fort Trophy Lures Ring Fry. Next tourney is on April 14 on Tims Ford Reservoir in Tullahoma/Manchester, Tennessee.
