Default Anyone have any Luck on Black and Red Jigs?

A friend that I recently met over on a Discussion board turned me onto some spots up in Tennessee for a small "Family & Friends" Tournament I participated in, and he was telling me how they really do well up there with Black and Red Jigs.

So, last night I decided I'd make me a Black and Red Mop Jig. I was wondering if anyone else have any luck on that Color combination and when do you normally fish that color Combination? Water Clarity, Temp, Depth.

Thanks

I really like that combo in stained water, early in the year when the craws are just starting to come out. It's also a good one for stained water and cloudy days or lowlight conditions it seems.

Not a jig but my dad is a buzzbait FANATIC "I mean we caught buzzbait fish in Jan this year" lol. His favorite color to use no matter the situation is red and black. His favorite time to use it is totally the opposite of what you would think, he uses it in the heat of the day when the sun is the highest. He says he thinks it makes them mad lol. And he caught a 10lber last August in 90 deree heat in 6 inches of water and won 4 grand that day so i guess I can't be mad at him for that haha

Dang Mumpy that's a good looking jig. I like a solid black with a red shad sorta trailer in stained water and pitchin to night-time docks.

Thanks for the comments and the replies, I'm definitely gonna try her out now when the water gets a little stained.
