Default Secret Santa

Hey Guys, now that we have moved into Dec. and Christmas will soon be on the forefront of many of our thoughts. I was wondering if any of you would be interested in doing a Secret Santa gift exchange.

The way this would work for those of you that have not participated in an event like this before is this.

We would all agree on a minimal gift amount " say 15 to 20 dollars. You would then be given the address of another member who signed up for the gift exchange, and you would send your gift anonymously to that person.

It requires an equal number of participants and someone to collect and distribute the addresses.

Just checking interest at this point, but I have participated in these in the past and they are allot of fun.

If there is enough interest and firm rules are set you can count me in.

Rule #1: No helicopter lures

Rule #2: No pocket fishermen

That should just about cover it...

Count me in, too.

Agreed, it should be something cool that you might not splurge on for yourself.

As we are all friends here, I am sure we can agree to some standard set of rules.

Baaa, Humbug!

Just a thought, but I think $10 is a better lower limit. I usually give closer to $20-25 anyway it might encourage greater participation.

Also, perhaps clarification on whether it would be new gifts only, or is unused acceptable? I think I still have some flying lures hanging around in the garage.

I will let you guys decide on what you think the appropriate amount should be. I would prefer to keep it to new items. The intent is to have fun, and send someone a nice suprise for the Holiday. We all just need to agree on an amount.

I'm cool with whatever amount we decide on but I think it would be more fun if the amount were high enough to get someone a nice, unique gift. My vote is somewhere in the $15-$25 range.

Bama, why would you want to get rid of those prized items? Is everyone ok with 15, sounds like a good number to me.

I think gifts would need to bought and sent somewhere around the 15th of the month, this would give them good opportunity to arrive by Christmas. If you guys will PM me your shipping addresses. I will start putting something together. would like to have all the names of those that are interested by the middle of next week if possible. This will give me a chance to get the address of the person you are buying for to you.

$15 works for me.

I mean absolutely no disrespect to newer members or anyone else but should we have some sort of minimum post requirement or something to participate? I am completely confident that everyone will do what they're supposed to but at the same time I would hate to see someone get burned.

I'm good either way, just thought I would bring it up.

Again, not to offend anyone, but lets go with a 50 post min. unless someone feels like this is unfair to someone.

If someone can deal with getting their present after New Year's, I am in too. I will be in Dec 30th. But I can have it sent out by the 2nd or 3rd. I could always order online though and have it sent (I just read the post about the date) I'm in.

But Kory if you sent jigs at your cost, someone would get a tacklebox full hahahaha.

Sorry, if I have not been clear, the way I was thinking this would work is this. Each of you send me your mailing address. I will then by random draw select an address for each of us to send a gift to. I will send you a Private Message with the information of the person you are buying for. You should send your gift anonymously if possible, it kinda adds to the fun. Sorry if this is still unclear, if anyone would like to call and talk about this, send me a PM with your number and I will give you a call.
