I like the Silver MAx's because they were cheap enough (I got them in a $70 Lightning Rod combo that I phinegled down to $40 each) for me to risk finding out I didn't like Baitcasters while being quality enough for me to find out if I didn't like baitcasters.

I am in the process of getting some even better Abu's now so you know how that decision went. I imagine I will sell my Silver Max's to a good home at some point, but they are good reels.

I just got mine, I loving it! Very light and sensitive! In fact, I'm loosing more jig cause I'm using my "free hook sets" well hook set are free, but jigs are not!

I think there's like a 6 or 8 dollar shipping charge on 1 piece rods over 6'.

It must be. A guy on a local forum told me when he went to BPS here, they had the Daiwa Zillion 50th anniversary reels onsave for 149.97. Holy Crap, I though. I'm gonna spen the last of my gas money and get one. So today, I called over there to make sure they had some left. They did. I asked if they were on clearance. The lady said, "Yep, only 249.97" I thought knowing your numbers was fundamental... oh well, no fire engine red reel for me. I still want to order one of those Cabela's rods.

Woohoo yeah baby. Snuck out for about an hour tonight just as it was getting dark and starting tossing a Strike King Rage Frog on my new Cabelas XML 7 foot heavy action casting rod. Paired with a Cabelas Prodigy casting reel and 30 pound Power Pro line. The bass were giving me smiles as I caught 4 from shore in that short time, the best being a 4 pounder. I gotta tell ya, the rod performed wonderfully! The sensitivity in that rod is amazing allowing me to feel every tick of every piece of vegitation the from touched. I can't wait to get the 6 1/2 footer set up to try out.
