Best hook to use for rubber worms?

Just wondering what is the best type of hook to use with a rubber worm? Also do you go with 2/0 or 3/0?

experiment, thats what Bass Fishing is all about. Diff results for diff folks. To many variables to try and figure out Bass Fishing! 1 day it works next day it dont!

kenny you are right in an extent, but ussually the hook is not changing to often. by this i meant that for any kind of worm, you can use the same hook. i like to use the gamamatsu(forgot how to spell it) 3/0 r-bend worm hooks, i think thats what they are, its been a few weks since i bought a pack of them. i like to bend the r-bend to make it more of a acute angle. i am looking for hooks that already have this, i have found some i think that are made by eagle claw, and next time i go, im guuna pick up those instead.

I like to use the Eagle Claw Lazer Sharp worm hooks in the 3/0 size. It catches small and larger size bass for me. They are only $1.86 at a Wal-Mart too!

I may use a #1 on a finese worm like a 4 inch,
but most of the time I use a #2 with any plastic the diameter of a pencil and the much bigger profile baits like a big 3-4 inch craw, I tend to use a 3-4 -5
#5 comes to mind for something as big as a sluggo
and I also use gammy or owner

What size worm are we talking about? Â*I use different sizes for different stuff. Â*If it's a basic 5"-7" worm, then a Owner or Gammy Superline 3/0 is what I use. Â*I use a Widegap offset hook. Â*If you are using dropshot or smaller stuff, then downsize. Â*I of course will also use a 5/0 anytime I'm too lazy to change the hook :-[

There is no best type of hook. Just make sure to match the hook size to worm size and to make sure that after the bait is rigged the remaining gap is at least as large as the diameter of the worm so the hook has room to get through the plastic (not rubber) for a good hookset.

I use a 2/0 J-Bend for 4" worms,3/0-4/0 J-Bend for 6"-8" worms and 4/0-5/0 EWG for Senkos- All Hookerz brand. These are my Tex-rig choices. ;D

For 4-6" worms I use a red Daiichi Fat Gap in 3/0
For bigger worms,I prefer a 5/0.

and remember, if the point glides over your thumbnail its not sharp! a good hook will stick on your nail if you press slightly, then pull to see if it moves..I always
carry a hook sharpner. only take a few swipes in the pre made groove to sharpen, it sure helps after being hung on wood or bounce it off rip rap etc
