Smile Best line for jig fishing

I have heard about people who use braid and people who use mono. I'm new to jigs and need some help. Any thing's fine.

I rarely use braid anymore but if I did I would use Power Pro. I use XPS fluorocarbon for pretty much all my jig fishing. It works great, I've had no problems loosing fish in heavy cover with it. It's got good abrasion resistance and little stretch.

I use PowerPro. I fish jigs a lot in flooded timber, and the braid allows me to throw in and around flooded treetop. My favorite tactic is to throw over a flooded treetop and pull the jig back through it. Braid is the only line that will allow me to do that. Plus, braid lasts a long time-I've had the same braid spooled for 2-3 years with no problems.

Whatever line you choose, it should have very low stretch to it. Jig fishing IMO is a quick sharp hookset method of fishing. The fish won't hold on long to it(generally), so you need a quick hookset. And low or NO-STRETCH line is better for Jigging IMO. Longer rods to move line quicker helps too.
