Default umbrela Rig

I was at Susquehana bait and tackle and they showed me an umbrella rigged with what looked to be super flukes. they followed all rules with the hooks. I used them trolling for stripers but has anyone done this with largemouth bass? i sure haven't they said they did really good with smallies with it. so anyone else try this?

Scott the rig you're talking about has gotten lots of attention in the Bass world lately. If you want a data overload Google- Alabama Rig- and search the same phrase on this site. Give one a try if you can and report back to us with the outcome.

Basically it is that or a striper rig, been around a bit,but depending upon hook size and number of baits used they must be within the the regs of the state its being used in.
3 above a number six hook in Tennessee,not 5
And all the guys that made homemade jigs etc have hopped on this and are making 3 and 4 rig bama rigs for about 10 bucks each, are on ebay so much for the 20-25 dollar ones.

After reading Kevin Scarselli's recent newsletter, I too, think it might be a good idea to keep one of these rigs in the boat, but living in a state with hook restrictions,(and not willing to throw the dice with baits w/o. hooks) I decided to go with the "Calabama" rig. Jig head with three trailing baits, and spinner blades mounted above, made by Chubby Chasers.
