I use a 6' 2" Avid for jerkbaits and poppers so the tip doesn't slap the water and a 6' 6" for spinnerbaits and buzzbaits to help me make more accurate casts. Other than that most of my rods are around 7'.

Carry 11 rods on my deck for tourneys. 9 are 7', 1-6'6", other is 7'6". Largest is for pitchin, short is for tight areas. Both spinnerbait rods are 7's and I could probably hit a tea cup at 25-30 yrds 8/10 times. I know all the pros have different size, shape, length, etc for different stuff. Im more practical, 7' works for me and I am comfortable with everything I throw with them. Comfort in a rod is priceless.

"Comfort in a rod is priceless." Just like a pair of shoes!

Most of my store bought rods are 6'6" because I mainly fish from a 12' boat. I have bumped my wormin' and topwater rod up to 7' though since I started building rods. And I am building a few more at 7'. I have heard DVT mention the 6' rolling rod before and I am turning the wheels for one too. I have a blank that was a 7'6" telescoping rod. I use the end section for a practice piece on wraps. The other section is about 6' with a good back bone. Might be in the works sooner than later.
