Default Tell me i am not the only one

has this happened to anyone else. fished a tourney this last weekend, and could not catch anything respectable. 3 small keepers, and very skinny fish at that. rough day to say the least. have been struggling in the lake all year long actually. so yesterday myself and my buddy decide we are going to conquer the beast that has given us crap all year long.

we continue to catch 10-12 inch monsters all afternoon long. we go to a connecting lake, and yet the same. as we pull thru into the next connecting lake though, in an area that we fished in the tourney, and always fish this area, this happens: in 1 1/2 feet of water, completely sandy bottom, hardly any weeds to speak of at all, using a 4"smoke senko worm, casted 2 feet outside of the first dock in the lake.

21" and 4 1/2 pounds later i am wondering where this guy was on saturday, lol. mission accomplished though, dont feel so bad about the lake anymore.

Shame on you. You should never complain about catching a 4.5# fish.

I havnt had much luck tourney fishing this year either. I only managed to boat 3 keepers last week in the high water, for a 5th or 6th place finish.

i go through that alot too. either catch them really good before a tourney and they become MIA on tourney day, or catch them really good right after i struggle in a tournament. just happens i guess.

One of the problems with fishing a lake during a tournament is that unless you're camping in one spot, you're going to be fishing a lot of used water that a lot of good fishermen have fished ahead of you which isn't as likely to happen when pre or post fishing a tournament. I don't care where you're from, most tournament fishermen that are willing to put their hard earned cash down have useually been around the block a time or two. When you get ready to make that little milk run that produced so many fish in practice, you either find a competitor on your spot or one or two have already fished it. Happens alot.
