Default going deep in fl

As most of you probably know, fl is known for weed fishing, most lakes are hardly more than 7ft at the deepest and fishing structure often isn't an option. Theres a lake right by me that I've been fishing a lot recently and Its not really like a typical florida lake, tons of brushpiles, fairly deep, and little grass. I've found a rockpile and some deep points about 10-15' deep in the lake, and I was wonderring if any of you fl boys have any experience fishing deep structure on lakes around here, and is it pretty much the same as anywhere else?

It's no different in Florida, (even though it's rare in Smaller ponds and lakes) than anywhere else. Use weighted stuff, or deep diving cranks or slow rolling a spinnerbait with smaller blades to keep down on the "lift"(I dislike this technique personally). Fish it with all your tools, and see what they want. I would say the rock pile is a good place for crawdad imatations. Drop Shot and c-rig are other good ways to try. Rodman is hooked on cranks now LOL. But quite honestly cranks are a lot tougher to use in Florida in most of the water due to vegetation. If this has areas to throw them then by all means give it a try, or even c-rig a floating crank, which allows you to work it really slow, and keep it just above some weeds in some areas. Use PNJ's and t-rigs all over those brush piles, and working flukes is always a good idea in Florida rotfl.

Defenitely, jerkbaits ar emy #1 lure around here, I can catch fish on them in almost any situation, although sometimes other things will work better. I think I'll try to c-rig a paca craw first off, thanks.
