Will,

You are basically asking crack dealers about how to get off the Narcotics.

I wish I could help. For me I am pretty sure that I will slow down once my addiciton forces me to pay alimony.

Don't worry Will, on my way to Chicago this week I stopped at BPS and picke up some blade bates (4) and another Lucky Craft pointer.... I wish that I didn't stop.

Oh, have to run to Cabales to pick up another order this weekend. The Bait monkey called me this week and never gave up....

Give all your money to the poor and your credit cards to me and you will kick your addiction to the bait monkey. Otherwise there is no hope.

Im addicted to, but best way to calm yourself down is whenever you feel the urge to buy, go to your boat, and reorganize ALL the stuff you have. put everything where you want it and reposition everything, but look at it as you do it, seeing all your stuuff will end the craving, or at least it does for me.

As c-rig said it will only get worse... in less than two years i went from having one small plano box with all of my lures in it (including hooks, sinkers, plastics), and one $30 baitcaster, and now i have a monster tackle bag that weighs over 40 pounds, and 8 casting combos (between $100-$150 a piece) and three spinning combos. All of this tackle is for bank fishing. Did i need most of it... probably not, but when the monkey bites he will not let go! Best of Luck to You!

Wait until you start creating your own baits...I have recently been buying a lot of blank cranks, suspending baits & poppers and airbrushing my own designs...man, it's a blast! I started catching fish on my own baits last year and for some reason it's even more fulfilling to catch fish on something you created.

Set a budget on how much you plan to spend a month-if it is real bad a week. I went yesterday to WM to see what was on sale, well I came away with a new bait casting reel a $124 for $89 plus other baits on sale - total $120. Well I guess I better go add my budget up, I think I went over. :-( I told my wife look how much I saved everthing was on sale. I got that saying from the best, after 30 years with her don't you know. :-)

Each year I try to keep it down to just one new rod/reel within by budget.

I make about one trip to Bass Pro a week! I can spend an hour or more just walking down the isles looking at everything!! I also do this online when it's late and all I can think about is fishing...try www.tacklewarehouse.com. I placed an order last week, and before UPS delivered it to my door I already have another one on the way!

They should make a pill for this.

Sorry, I can not help....during summer i had 2 spinning reels, by the end of it I had 4 spinning reels, two ultralights, and two baitcasters and i am lokking at another one....i started with a mini tackle box with it not filled up, now i have a huge tackle box, two small takle boxes, and two small tackle bags....do i need it all, no can i really truley afford it all, not really but i will order half a meal just so i can talk myself into buying somemore...just an hour ago, i wnet to walmart to get gas, if you get a walmart shopping card you get three cent off of gas, but i ended up buying a bag of baits and i forgot to get gas!!!! Just like it was already said, you are asking a crack addict how to quit, we can't help you.... Did i mention i was just a bank fisher!!!!!

P.S. My name is Jeremy and I am an addict!!!!
