Default Very odd fishing rod.

It is a Diawa X Interline Rod. The line passes into the rod about 14 inches from the reel and a spiral rib inside the rod keeps the line in check. Line exits the tip from a round cone tip with a ceramic like ring on it.

It is old school but was all the rage in 2002. It requires a rigging wire to pull the line thru the rod and besides that slight drawback was a good rod.

I managed to get one in great condition at a flea market.

The inside of rod has a spiral ridge and it removes water from the line and prevents the line from cutting into the high modules linear graphite. It is very sensitive and can cast a further than rods with guides. Weight of rod 10 foot long is 12 oz's.

They still make them overseas for casting competitions and match fishing.

At one time they hit the bass fishing market and those who had them loved the rods.

Braid changed the scene and they disappeared from the market.
