Default Who's fishing this weekend?

Who's going fishing this weekend?.
Tell us where and what your plan of attack is. My weekend is kinda in limbo. I might get out Sunday morning. Have it down to two top water rods, two crank bait rods and a spinner bait rod. No soft plastics, or jigs this time out. They havn't been producing. One exception though. I might have one rod rigged with a soft jeerk bait, a Caffeene Shad.

I don't fish holiday weekends - Memorial Day, July 4th or Labor day. Too many nutz on the water, ramps crowded, too many boaters that think adult beverages are part of the holiday boating experience, I'd much rather not deal with it. I have plenty of time to fish, holiday weekends don't need to be a part of it for me.

If I go, it will be Monday. I got out of fishing a tourney tomorrow. After 4 weekends in a row, I'm kind of tourney'd out. Looking at a whopper cold front coming through Sunday pm and Monday, so I'd probably dropshot and just let it drag in the weeds while I drift with the breeze. Starting out about 6-8 feet and go deeper until I hit fish.

We arrived at our cabin at supper time and got out for an hour before it got dark and we headed in. 3 LM for me on a Zoomie, 1 Smallie on a Pop-R and a couple other fish with a fear of commitment to my Pop-R and Spook. My brother-in-law caught a couple dinks on a crankbait and a 2.4 LM on a 5" wacky-rigged senko. My 6 year old nephew caught a tiny, yet very ambitious, Rock Bass on a crankbait.

We plan to fish as much as we can until they have to head home on Monday. Kaye and I will be here until Wednesday. I plan to use zoomies, senkos, all sorts of topwaters, jig & pig, crankbaits and I hope to pull out a couple lures that I haven't used all year, but I'm not sure yet what those will be.

I'm fixin to leave in a few minutes! Since most of the ponds/lakes in my current rotation are private, Holidays are a non-issue. Pam asked me to take her out Sunday and Monday and Tuesday to spend some quality time on the water and try to run her count up. I've been pretty focused on a contest me and some guys on the internet are having this year so I'm looking forward to just relaxing and enjoying putting her on a bunch of fish. Charlie Brewer Slider Heads are a lock for tons of summer bites for me.

Monday is the first day of Dove season down here and while I enjoy knocking down a mess of grey birds as much as the nest guy..................I'd rather be fishing.

(speaking of the above contest, while I may not win place or show and the fact that I'm always thinking about big fish anyway notwithstanding, because of the extra time and effort I've spent this year trying to win I can honestly say I've caught more fish over 4 lbs or so than usual. Plus I've still got 4 months)

I'd wish you luck but I too have a crazy contest I'm in on the internet. Now Pam, beauty always over takes my competitive nature!

What do you fish on the sliders? Grubs or a finesse worm?
