bass season ??? Â*What's a bass season? Pre-spawn, spawn, post-spawn?

Just yanking your chain . Â*Depending on your local laws, it may be illegal to keep them if you catch one, but I'd check with the Fish and Game dept. to be on the safe side.

Some states actually have seasons for certain fish, so don't come down on this guy just because he isn't sure if his state has a season.

Best thing to do is look up your states Wildlife resources agency website and look to see if they have a season for bass fishing.

I am not certain about your state or area. Here in Texas every day of the year we can catch bass. Just have to follow state and lake guidelines as to what size is legal. If you are on a slot lake, make sure you aren't keeping illegal size fish.
Pick up a Parks and Wildlife handbook issued by your state.

I've tried them once, they're pretty good. But I always catch and release except for that once.

In defense of Minnesota they have some fantastic smallmouth fishing up there, not to mention walleye, pike and muskie.

Yes some states absolutely do have bass seasons and even on a local level, a particular body of water can have it's own rules. Go to your state Department of Natural Resources "site" and look for it. Under fishing regulations.

most northern states do have bass seasons. i would check your laws, and see what the rules are. if you do fish for bass and not suposed to, and you were caught, say you were fishin for something else. i know thats not right, but as long as you dont keep them, there shouldnt be a problem.
