I dont own any baitcasters so I throw buzzbaits and spinnerbaits with a spinning reel. the only prob. is
i dont think i get these baits in the water quietly enough. Is using a baitcaster with these baits the only way to fish them. ???.Im sure there are other spin guys
in here that fish the baits this way,so please i would love to hear from you....thanks

A lot of times the splash will attract the fish.

This is why "they" say to wait a couple seconds before you start to reel in.

No need to worry about the splash with a buzzbait-that's the idea.Using a baitcaster isn't the only way to fish them, but I find it is easier because the baitcaster has a higher gear ratio than most spinning reels which means it reels in line faster and speed is the name of the game with a buzzbait-you want the bait to be on the surface as fast as you can, and I find a baitcaster works better. But there is no right or wrong answer-just personal preference.

you can also "feather" the lure to splashdown.
That means as the lure nears the water, let the line right at the spool softly brush against your finger till the lure hits water.
Takes a little practice to get right, but v=can make a very quiet entry.

My friend has a small goldfish pond,
and every time I threw a rock into it, a few
goldfish will swim up to it and see what's goin on...
The bigger rocks got the most attention, so that tells
me that the splash really doesnt scare them off,
unless you cast the lure right on top of the fish or very close up to it...

: : :

Goldfish will take food out of your hand, 99.99999999% of bass won't. So I don't really see how a goldfishes reaction to a splash can relate to bass.
