I just bought a bass pro extreme 7.0 foot rod (says crankbait) and a bass pro extreme baitcast reel. I haven't gotten to use this yet but is this a good setup for cranking?

AiRRUS Cranking Stick. It is unbelievable. I've cashed a check in my last two tournaments on that rod. Every fish has practically swallowed my wiggle wart. Two tumbs up.

With one exception I don't use crankbait rods anymore. I switched over to plain 6-6 M action Falcon Low Riders and they work just fine. The exception is a Falcon Deep Cranker designed to fish the big bruisers like a DD-22. I like the lighter graphite stick as opposed to a glass or composite rod and didn't want to pay the big $$$ for a graphite "crankbait" rod.
