Perffered reels for reals

Sup dudes, jus hanggin. Got enough money ta buy a new real cuz my old one's a shimano and it's piece of crap now. (But the ancient artifact still works lol). But i've never tried a bait casting reel and those things look savage!
which do yall perfer, bai casting or a normal one with a bale?

Get both:

Spinning with braid for timber and banks

Baitcaster with mono in open waters.

Unless I'm drop shotting, doing a Zooker imitation by fishing in hurricane force winds or throwing a light bait all I use are baitcasters. Â*You can fish heavier cover, use heavier lines, and throw heavier baits.

They are not hard to use, it just takes a little practice to learn how to use them.

i like spincasting, it all depends on personal preference, whatever appeals to you.

each one has it's place in and out of the boat. bails work good if you close to the water say like if your in a canoe, or working in tight areas near shore where normally you can't flip a baitcaster. bait casters are awesome for long casts, tough line, and big fish and usually take a better beating. when sitting down in a deep hull boat and close to another fisher I like a bail casting rod in case you cross lines when casting. Had crossed lines before then the birds nest happend. stand up fishing or elivated seats with lots of room the bait caster for sure. If you leaning towards a bait caster try to by a used one of a friend or someone you know to see if you like it before you spend alot on a reel you might not like. Remember baitcasters aren't for every one! Hope this might help you a little.

well put rob. I personally like both, but find myself using my spinning more, but only because my reel is gettin worn out. I am getting a new one soon, maybe 2 weeks.

Spinning for finesse worming teqniques and skipping stuff under docks for me, baitcasting everything else. If youve never used one, make sure to practice casting in your yard before hitting the water, this will save you lots of frustration. Just keep light pressure on the spool for the cast then stop the spool when it hits the water.

i like them both .but for clear water or presured waters i use a spinning reel spooled with about 6 pound test.
