setting up line for worm

hey guys i know this is a pretty basic question but im sure the placing of your weights matters when it comes to catching bass. can anyone tell me how the best was to set up a line is with a worm (senkos usually), meaning from the hook to the weight distance, what weight, and so on? thanks

I usually fish them weightless but sometimes I use 1/16th bullet weights and let them slip onto the top of the worm!

Senko-type baits I fish weightless. You are referring to weight distance from the hook-not quite sure what you are asking-do you mean a Carolina rig?

i always fish senkos weightless.i fish worms on jobee pro hooks or owner bullet head jigheads.if i am fishing a pure t-rigg the weight is not pegged and slides up and down the line.if you are split shotting then you put it 12-36 inches above the hook kind of like a c-rigg. ;D

I fish senkos AOLT they been very big producers for me, usually I fish them weightless unless I'm fishing on a windy day or in a river with a strong current then I like to use a small 1/16 oz. screw in worm weight.

yea but sometimes without a weight i dont get a good enough cast. how far up the line fromt the hook should the weight be im asking

If you fish it weightless and not get a good cast then you should get a new rod!

It sounds like you are using a split shot rig or some variation of it. In that case 8-10 inches up the like ought to work just fine.

I use a Mojo rig a lot with senko's or knockoffs. I have the weight pegged anywhere from 6"-18" depending on what's on the bottom. I drag it along, instead of your typical hopping motion. It's great for weeds and timber IMO. A lot like the c-rig, except it gets hung up hardly ever, and no noise or clicking from the rig. I usually use a 1/8 oz, but move up in weight depending on conditions.
