Default pimp my ride

i just bought a new boat, well it is new to me but is actually an 87 winner. although it is used i bought it from my cousin and he bought it new and treated it like his child! it has never been left outside and anything he put on it he bought good stuff and had it done right, so the boat is in excellent shape but it has a few spots where time has taken its toll. such as a spot on the lower unit where the paint has wore off a little, and a piece of trim around the console has come loose but that doesn't bother me much. i am proud of it and i think that a guy my age (23) to own any bass boat he bought himself is great. i missed bass tech this week where they did some cosmetic work on boats on a budget. i was wondering if anybody had tips on things i could do to make my boat look custom of just set it off a little. thanks in advance for any help.

oh i saw basstech on saturday. ok for the engine tailfin thing, you have to sand it, then use a certain kind of greenish spraypaint base. then just spray it the regular color. also there was some stuff about the rods on deck leaving scuffs, but i didnt really get that. and yeah id flame it up. some cheap spray paint. 4 colors would be all you needed

CAROLINA 1,
Now that the A__H____'s are done with thier bickering, the proper primer to use on the aluminum skeg of your motor is ZINC CHROMATE primer (which you can buy at most hardware stores and Wally-World) then follow up with FACTORY spray paint to match your motor color, which you can buy or order thru your dealer.
I would not spray any paint on your boat, as it might etch into the gel coat of your boat and be there forever. This may be a REAL problem if you screw up the painting or change your mind in a year or two. Just keep your boat waxed with a good boat wax and fish the he!! out of it, it will be worth a lot more on trade in for your next boat.

Jackl is correct on the primer. You can use regular old spray paint on the lower if you wish but you will be dollars ahead ifn you do it right the first time. Your local marine should have the correct touch up. As far as the boat itself WallyWorld sells a very good fiberglass restore product as well as 3M also makes a fine product. If your careful with the buffer you can really make her shine. DO NOT use spray paint on the hull. You will regret it. Clean up the carpet and go fishing buddy.
