Some metal:

<<<Avenged Sevenfold<<<
Haste the Day
Under Oath
Bullet for my Valentine
Pantera
old Metallica
and many other bands I'm sure none of you have ever heard of...

Also I like the classic rock, and pretty much anything rock except for hair/glam rock...

Naw, Tupac was an interesting cultural icon in the mid 90s but he had limited musical talent.

Rap as a form of music is severly limited and has been stagnant since...well...death row records which featured tupac, snoop, dr dre and others. Since then nobody has made a step forward in the medium because there is nothing else left to do. You can only wear baggy pants so long and then it becomes stale, ask mc hammer.

Limited musical talent WTL? come on the guy single handedly changed the way many people viewed the struggles people like him faced especially dealing with what happened in the "hood" and what was never done to stop it, and all this in his music. I consider him one of the few rappers that were actually true. he had message in his music, he never rapped about stupid stuff like you hear many "rappers" now-a-days rapping about. He actually had content and structure to his music, he had organized views and ideas embedded in his music, he had so much intellectual thought in his music that it made people that dont even listen to rap understand what was going on and he gave people that faced struggles in the "hood" hope. i mean if you can point out a better rapper than tupac then i'll withdraw my case but i dont see any other rapper that ranks up to him as far as what he did and the content and structure and message of his music. and not even just rappers, rsome rock artists and country artist dont even portay as much message as he did. i just find it amazing how a guy can change the world with his music. and thats the very reason i look up to him as not just an artist and song writer, but also as an individual. his music and lyrics have inspired many of the songs i've written, even though i dont write raps i write indie/rock style songs.

Cranky, Tupac is dead. and the autopsy photos and all the critics out there saying that is not why i think so, its because of this qoute from Tupac "A coward dies a thousand deaths, a souldier dies but one" that one saying there tells me for sure he did die. he wouldnt fake his death. Not for money, or to get away from all his problems. And he would deffinitely never do that to his mother.

Haha yea i've done a lot of research on the guy in my day.

Chuck D did it first, well, at least earlier, and was better, but that's just what I've been told

02,

Grandmaster Flash beat Tupac by a decade in the "publicizing his people's troubles" department. And Marley had them both beat, and Leadbelly had everyone beat by a friggin half century.

And none of that has anything to do with musical talent.

Rosa Parks fought for her fellow African Americans as well, doesn't make her a musician.

Reread what I said, I granted Tupacs place as a cultural icon. Musically he lagged far behind, say, Kurt Cobain who passed at the same time. But I will give Tupac credit for being much better than biggie smalls.

the whole 777 theory behind tupac is quite interesting. And he was a great musician. Today, we were presenting music on revolution in world cultures (about to study french revolution). My first thought was MOSH by eminem. but then the teacher used it as an example so i used changes by tupac. the majority of the class has the same exact taste in music to most of you... even they liked changes. But hey, different people have different opinions.
Grandmaster flash-The message was an amazing song.

cranky,

Tupac did not write changes, he ripped it off. The current term is "sample" but that is another word for rip off or steal.

Again, he did not do any heavy lifting for the song changes. He did not really write it. He did the lyrics, but the original song I believe was called "the way it is" and released in the 70s. Someone else might know more than me, but it sounds kinda like Bob Segar.

I can not condone the listening to of any modern day country music...lol.

Seriously, any country thats been made recently is pop country, not real country. I have plenty of respect for bluegrass and old country like Johny Cash, but just about anything else is no good. I also don't particularly like any rap.

Without a doubt the most talented band out there right now is Dragonforce. I don't particularly like their sound, but its undeniable that their drummer, their guitarists and pretty much everything about them is better than any other band. They have the most ridiculous guitar solos and instrumentally I don't think there are any bands as good as them.

Dragonforce is a good band, and I have to agree with you, I like the sound, just not the singers voice, it kind of irks me, which is sad, as the musicianship is great.
