Question Bad news..possibly good news

well, i got canned today gang. seems they don't want to take the time to TRAIN a newcomer as much as they thought. so i am as of now, unemployed.

BUT, i may have a job as of tonight. i called the city where i USED to work, new managment in place there now. and the new boss said he was going to hire 3 new people. and i would most likely be one of them. i'll find out either tonight or tomorrow. and i would POSSIBLY go in at the rate of pay as when i left. which would be great, lol.

at progress rail, there have been some accidents. BAD ones. and since i ONLY have a class B cdl. and the new trucks they have have the new stick shift transmission that i have NEVER used before. they gave me only 1 1/2 days to learn it. couldn't do it gang. i have never had such a hard time learning to drive a truck as i have with that one. i am not mad, jsut dissappointed in myself and them really. the trainer was cool, he wanted me to have the rest of the week to learn it. but the higher ups didn't see it that way. but i guess it's all ok and GOD is guiding me in the right direction...back to the city, lol. if i get hired back on there, i'll not leave again till i reitre. which will be about 15 yrs. that will give me 30 years in the RSA. which is good retirement.

so pray i get to go back please. thanks gang. i was looking FORWARD to the traveling ont he progress rail job and having a chance to visit some of oyu. guess i'll have to do it the old fashioned way, lol. show up at midnight and bang on your door, hahaha!

thanks agian gang.

I'm so sorry it didn't work out John, but maybe it's for the better. At least your going back where it will feel like home. They should have spent more time training you. They let a very good man get away. I'll be keeping you in my prayers.

Hope things work out.

If we knew God's plan it would take a lot of fun out of life wouldn't it.

Best of luck Pal!

What I heard:

Bad news, he lost the job.

Good news, John won't be banging on my door at midnight.

Sorry to make light of it, buddy. But John, I just know it'll work out for you. You and Lisa are always in my prayers. Keep rolling with those punches.

i am ducking and a dodging gang. too old to quit and too STUBBORN to stop trying. talked to my old employer today. may or may not be able to return. tie will tell, but the #2 man said that the boss HAS to hire 3 real soon. and the #2 man does the hiring mostly. meaning the boss goes by what he tells him. if that makes sense, lol. but i am also hitting all the other places too. may even consider moving BACk to south bama again.LOTS of work going on down thee. new auto plant and all.

thank oyu ALL for the thoughts and prayers. lisa and i WILL make it. done it for over 23 years and ain't gonna stop now. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!

Man, I swear! Only you could snatch defeat from the jaws of victory John. Those "new" transmissions are called "automatics", by the way.

John, my friend, you know we ALL are praying for you. Every time I speak to our Father you and Lisa are at the top of my list. Just keep asking for His blessings and guidance and He will make sure you are where you are supposed to be.
