Default What would you choose

If you could have only one lure for bass fishing, what would it be? I know this is a hard question, but I am just looking for everyones favorite. Ok, real reason I was asking, as everyone knows I am a rookie and I am looking for guidance as to what to buy. I am looking forward to hitting the lakes as soon as the weather gets better.

One lure, hmmm, if I wanted it for fun fishing, I would say a Rebel Popper.

If you're just beginning I'd say any color 6-7 inch worm, auger tail or ribbon style, texas rigged. Its the most consistant lure a beginner can't gain some confidence with.

I'd have just a hook ... then I could put any critter I found on it. Worms, crickets, insects.

If I could only use one lure . . . it would probably be a tube because it is so versatile. You could rig it weedless or just let the hook stick out. You can use a light jighead if you want a slow fall or go with a heavier jighead to really get it down to the bottom. You can throw it in the middle of the lake or work some structure on the banks.

Depends on conditions
Crankbait depending on weeds
Tube and worm would be easy
spinnerbaits-weeds
jig-structure

I'm with the JB. A plastic worm texas rigged. Funny though, the more I learn about bass fishing, the less I use a plastic worm. As I recently posted, I am learning to stay away from confidence baits.

5' Kalin grub will catch fish anytime you want to use it, but most people tend to fish other lures, myself included. P N J

if i could only use one lure it would absolutely be the 5 inch senko t- rigged weightless on a 3/0 ewg hook.over the course of a season you will catch more fish on this lure than any other.

Tough, Some type of soft plastic-worm or lizard. If not my primary weapon of choice is a spinnerbait.

I would have my favorite lure. The one i learnt to use even before I knew how to work a worm or senko. The Zara Spook. I love fishing this lure. The strikes are explosive.....

Ok I am now looking at a worm texas rigged. How about what type of hook to use. Does it depend on how big the worm is? Dont get me wrong folks, but I'm used to using either a small hook for stream trout and a medium size hook for carp at the lake. The only thing outside blue gil, carp and trout I have caught is a small small mouth bass on a rooster tail. So I appreciate everyones input ... I am reading article after article getting the know how to this. Once again thanks.

the size sometimes matters. i cant really explain this one to you but use a gary yamamoto black senko w/red flake on a 2/0 or 3/0 owner rign style hook so that u can texas rig it

A Watermelon/Red glitter Zoom Speedworm......cut off the tail a half inch up the body and rig texposed on a 2/0 worm hook weightless. Looks like a Senko but sinks s l o w l y........also skips well for fishing under logs, docks and rocks......approaching weedlines, etc.
