Those long buzzbaits

Just saw the bill dance buzzbait with a foot long wire, and wondered, how do you throw this all day and not bend the wire? I am thinking the force of the rod whipping would tail end at the lure, and disfigure it..anyone ever had this lure? the BOOYAH Long Arm Dancin' Buzz

I asked the same question last year. Just keep wondering how to cast this thing...

I used one briefly. Its not the easiest thing in the world to cast. It doesn't get bent up from the cast like you might think. Never caught a fish on it either. That long arm is supposed to do two things, add a little more side to side action, and also giving a predator chasing prey appearance. Had a few incidents where the line would get twisted around the long arm during a cast, and even a good cast won't be very far.

It holds up pretty good huh? thanks for the info..I had thrown a twin prop with bucktail on the river before, it ran super slow, one blade was turning left, the other turned right, kinda looked like a airplane...it got me a fish or two, but I'll stick to the ol buzzbait anyday.....

Was thinking too that it would allow those shorts strikers or slow strikers enough time to strike at the hook!

I guess the idea is that the slower than normal bass can finally catch up with the skirt instead of following the buzzblade lol

Only thing I thought of when I saw it at Bass Pro a couple months ago.

By the way what size and brand do you throw? I throw a 1/8oz. strike king in either white or chartouse

I'm sure given the right conditions (water temp, time of year, air temp, barometric pressure) the long buzzbait is ideal...however most other baits will fill the void under the right conditions also huh

i have seen some fish just hit the blades and miss the hook

Two words . . . trailer hooks. But maybe the long arm can also get the job done.

My first thought when I saw it was "how do you store the lure without bending the thing up!?"

I don't have one and don't think I will be getting one.
